Everyone who knows about PCR laboratory knows that PCR laboratory uses polymerase chain reaction to amplify specific DNA fragments. This method can be carried out outside organisms without relying on organisms such as Escherichia coli or yeast. PCR is also widely used in medical and biological laboratories. Therefore, the cleanliness requirements of PCR laboratory are more stringent than those of general laboratories.

The cleaning of PCR laboratory is mainly through artificial means and the application of cleaning technology to control the dust, bacterial concentration, temperature, humidity and pressure in the indoor air, so as to achieve the required environmental parameters such as cleanliness, temperature, humidity and air velocity. This can ensure the accuracy of the experimental results and keep the staff away from possible infections. Generally, two-level isolation is required for the cleanliness of PCR laboratory. The first level isolation is realized through biosafety cabinet, negative pressure isolator, positive pressure protective clothing, gloves, eye mask, etc; Secondary isolation is achieved through the laboratory building, air conditioning purification and electrical control system.

However, due to the small air volume required for purification air conditioning in PCR laboratory, for the sake of safety, the air volume is estimated according to the large air volume, which generally exceeds the specifications. At present, there are special purification air conditioning units in PCR laboratory, which can be directly used to solve the problem. The general PCR laboratory is equipped with: ultra clean workbench, biosafety cabinet, side table or stainless steel operation table, washing table, etc. PCR laboratory is usually divided into four areas: reagent storage and preparation area, sample preparation area, amplification reaction mixture preparation and amplification area, and amplification product analysis area (if automatic analyzer is used, the areas can be combined appropriately).

Each area must be entered strictly in a single direction, and different work areas use different work clothes (e.g. different colors).
