1、 Development of laboratory countertops
In today's laboratory field, the laboratory table occupies a very important position in the whole laboratory furniture. The performance of the laboratory table directly affects the safety of laboratory operators and the service life of the laboratory table. The laboratory table has experienced the evolution from the most original operation table to professional test table, that is, innovative changes such as civil ceramic tile veneer, civil fireproof board, natural stone, veneered physical and chemical board, solid core physical and chemical board, stainless steel, industrial ceramics, epoxy resin board, etc.
In the early laboratory market, natural materials such as granite and marble were used as laboratory countertops, but flower steel and marble were not resistant to the corrosion of strong acid and other chemical reagents, and were gradually replaced by veneered physical and chemical plates. Subsequently, because the veneered physicochemical board can only be used after bonding and edge sealing with other substrates such as wood, it is not applicable to the water tank, so there is a solid physicochemical board, that is, phenolic resin board. However, the surface of the solid core physicochemical board is scratched and can not be repaired, and can not be polished and renovated, that is, epoxy resin board is derived.
In the 1990s, epoxy resin was successfully used in special laboratories. Because of its excellent performance, it is the mainstream product of international laboratory table. At present, more than 95% of owners in the U.S. market use epoxy resin countertops, because they deeply realize that in the laboratory, safety factors rank first, and epoxy resin board is the most safe and reliable countertop material. Epoxy resin board is the general trend choice of laboratory furniture table at present.
2、 Classification and characteristics of laboratory table
1. Veneered physical and chemical board table
It is made of surface paper, colored paper and kraft paper. Non structural materials, generally 0.9mm thick, shall be used together with the base material.
Features: 65% nitric acid, 98% sulfur, 60% chromic acid, 48% hydrofluoric acid and phenol have different degrees of defects. The high temperature resistance is poor. After the surface is damaged, the interior is not resistant to corrosion and cannot be repaired.
2. Marble countertop
Marble countertop belongs to medium hard stone, with various colors, bright colors, dense materials, strong compression resistance and low water absorption.
Features: the table is wear-resistant, not deformed and easy to clean. It is not suitable for contacting reagents and is not acid resistant.
3. Solid core physical and chemical board table
The table top of solid core physical and chemical board is formed by high temperature and high pressure treatment of kraft paper, colored paper and special surface paper impregnated with phenolic resin with special components, or by stirring and pressing after soaking phenolic resin with wood fiber.
Features: the surface is resistant to chemical reagent corrosion and anti-static; It can be used at - 50 ~ + 140 ℃. After the surface is damaged, the interior is not corrosion resistant and cannot be repaired.
4. Stainless steel countertop
Stainless steel countertops are widely used in clean laboratories and sterile biological laboratories. Suitable for pharmaceutical, food and other industries.
Features: no pores, no bacterial residue, good tensile strength, easy to clean and inhibit bacterial growth. It can process various styles of countertops as required. The corrosion resistance is not good, so it is not suitable for chemical laboratory.
5. Laboratory ceramic table
The ceramic countertop combines blue porcelain clay, kaolin and feldspar, and adds a variety of special materials. It is then calcined in an industrial oven at a high temperature above 1250 ℃ for a long time.
Hot spots: corrosion resistance, easy cleaning, impact resistance, scratch resistance, fire resistance, high temperature resistance, good load-bearing and anti-aging. However, the on-site processing performance is poor, which can not be repaired after being broken, and the size is large. When used in large-scale test-bed, there are relatively many joints. Therefore, laboratory ceramics are more used in detoxification cabinet.
6. Epoxy resin table
The epoxy resin table top is formed by pouring emery, glass fiber, epoxy resin powder, talc powder, catalyst, curing agent and pigment into a flat mold under vacuum after high temperature, stirring evenly under high temperature and vacuum without bubbles, and curing at high temperature for 8h after vacuum treatment.
Features: anti chemical reagent, antibacterial, impact resistant, non-conductive, easy to clean, wear-resistant, moisture-proof, anti ultraviolet, self extinguishing flame, integrated molding, no delamination, no expansion, no asbestos, high temperature resistance, refurbishable, seamless splicing, good appearance performance and comprehensive performance.
